Comments from the Seller: Brady, Irene Santa Barbara 1978 Hard cover First edition. Limited edition: #6/26 SIGNED hard cover copies. Very good. No dust jacket. SIGNED by author. Lacks original clear acetate sleeve. There are a few faint scratches on rear cover and a tiny one on front cover, NEAR FINE. 126 p. : Illus.; 23 cm. Limited edition page with signature is in rear of book...it actually says #6/27, which is a mistake. Stories originally appeared in Audubon Magazine. These are not children's tales, but rather weighty discussions with animals whose world we share. In these conversations with gopher, kangaroo rat, shrew, bat, puma and jaguar, Schaefer (author of "Shane") was elicited dialogue with these animals and brings their fears, frustrations and philosophies to light.
