    Synopsis

About three things I was absolutely positive:
    First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him–and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be–that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

Isabella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife -- between desire and danger.

Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

    Publishers Weekly

In our Best Books citation, PW called this tale of a teen attracted to a vampire, a "riveting first novel, equal parts suspense and romance." Ages 12-up. (Sept.) Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.

12/01/2009: Stephanie Meyer takes us on the journey of two teenage star-crossed lovers in high school. You may think this is the average love story that has been portrayed on TV for the past decade, but this love story is far from average.

Twilight is told from Bella Swan's perspective, a 17 year old girl who moves to a town called Forks in Washington to live with her father. On her first day at her new high school, she meets a unique family, the Cullens. Everything about them catches her attention and soon she is obsessing over a certain member of the family, Edward Cullen. Edward isn't your average teenage boy. From his perfect skin and clothes to his impossibly good looks, everything about him makes Bella have eyes for no one but him. They soon become the young couple that everyone envies, but the more Bella discovers about the secrets to her new boyfriend's perfection, the more she is subjected to danger her new boyfriend and his family are vampires. Suddenly their relationship is jeopardized. Twilight, takes you on the journey of these two lovers and every sentence keeps you on edge. Despite Edward's constant protests that they shouldn't be together, it is almost impossible for them to be separated. Edward and Bella's impossible relationship lead them on a dangerous journey full of many unexpected surprises. Is it Bella constantly putting her life in danger to be with the man she loves? Or is it Edward's constant fighting with himself to not kill his girlfriend that keeps Twilight readers on their feet? Readers will find themselves unable to put it down. Stephanie Meyer makes this impossible love story believable.

People all over the world have been introduced to Twilight and each one is unable to put the book down after they read they read the first chapter. If you liked Twilight, I would highly recommend reading the rest of the Twilight Saga, and if you like the rest of the series, I would recommend reading Stephanie's latest book, The Host. Overall, I would rate this book at 4 out of 5 stars.
