    Synopsis

It's field trip day in Cam and Eric's class. Only where is Eric's permission slip? He had it on the bus, but now it's gone! Did someone take it? Did it blow away? After a few red herrings, Cam's click-click memory kicks in just in time for Eric to join the class on their field trip to the zoo.

Perfect for new readers, these Young Cam Jansen Easy-to-Read mysteries feature easy-to-follow storylines, brief sentences, and visual clues within the illustrations, and will introduce readers to feisty Cam, whose adventures can be followed in the Cam Jansen series for transitional readers.

    Illustrated by Susanna Natti.

    Annotation

Cam helps her friend Eric when he misplaces his permission slip to go on the school field trip.

    Marilyn Courtot - Children's Literature

Eric just couldn't seem to remember to bring a permission slip from his parents so he could go on a class trip to the zoo. And his friend Cam Jansen remarked that it was too bad that he would not be able to join his classmates. The permission slip was in Eric's pocket and he proudly shoed Cam that he remembered and would be going to the zoo. Alas once at school, he couldn't find it. He and Cam searched the bus, his jacket and every other logical place but to no avail. Then Cam with her photographic memory recalled what happened and the lost note is found. Everyone cheered and the zoo outing would now include everyone in the class. On the last page there is a picture of Eric and Cam at the zoo. Kids are asked to look and try and memorize what they see. The questions appear on the next page and the answers for those who are stumped are easily found by turning back to the picture. Natti and Adler make a great team with these young "Cam Jansen" stories and this is number 9 in the series. A "Viking Easy-To-Read," Level 2 Book. 2003, Viking/Penguin Putnam, Ages 5 to 7.
