Backed by the Mayo Clinic! The Second Edition of this very popular technical manual guides readers through the techniques, diagnostic criteria, and quantitative methods of both echocardiography and Doppler echocardiography. Readers will appreciate the succinct, practical presentation that allows them to find information quickly, digest principles easily, and diagnose coronary abnormalities accurately. Plus...more than 500 illustrations foster an immediate grasp of salient points.
This book contains predominantly black-and-white illustrations, with some color illustrations.
This book of echocardiography and Doppler echocardiography provides a concise summary of current techniques, diagnostic criteria, and quantitative methods. Its purpose is to provide an easily accessible reference work suitable for "on line" consultation during the performance and interpretation of a Doppler echocardiographic exam. The book is targeted toward practicing echocardiographers and technicians who need clear, straightforward summaries of approaches to specific clinical problems; hints on optimal techniques; and ready access to diagnostic criteria used to interpret Doppler echocardiograms. The brevity, compactness, and orderliness of presentation are especially useful features. The illustrations are clear, well annotated, and faithful in their reproduction of gray scale and color. The tables and summaries are easy to spot and provide accurate, focused approaches to specific diagnostic problems. As a technical manual and a companion to the echocardiographer in a clinical lab, I have not seen a more well-conceived book. Though it is not comprehensive and requires supplementation with more exhaustive texts, it should prove to be an indispensable addition to the library of every echocardiographer, student, and practitioner.
