02/26/2004: Early edition of this book was very helpful adjunct in EE antennas class. Also used it during early career in fiber optics with ITT Telecom about 20 years ago; 1st time seeing a 'natural'Fabry-Perot cavity in the form of what was then non-contacting FO connectors, an incidental effect but 'mysterious' until the FP-cavity effect confirmed; this book was very useful in that issue and also in other basic considerations such as coherence length & time in real FO systems. I currently have a copy of the Dover edition as well as the original HB. Unlike some Dover material this book is worth more than the Dover price-- a good buy!
