Biography
Joyce Tenneson is one of the most celebrated photographers of our time. She is the author of six books, including Light Warriors (Bulfinch, 2000), and her work has appeared in countless publications. Tenneson has had more than 150 exhibits in galleries and museums worldwide, and she is a respected lecturer and speaker. She lives and works in New York City.

07/16/2007: This book makes me laugh and cry, often at the same time. I keep it on my comfort bookshelf. A perfect present book for mothers, daughters, grandmothers, aunts, sisters and sister-friends. The faces of these remarkable women show so much emotion with so little effort. No diva-ing, no vogueing, just women who have lived strong, useful lives with courage, kindness and ferocity. Some have overcome unimaginable sorrow and heartbreak, yet they themselves did not break. Every line on a face reveals something about the woman's character. Their posture lets you know they are indomitable.
