11/06/2009: A friend made me read these books, saying that this was the best series she had ever read. However, I found them borrrrring. I only made it through the first three chapters of the first book before I decided to skip about twenty pages to see if the story line became any better. Not only was it still slow, but I could still tell what was going on because absolutely nothing had changed! Although, I do like that the vampires were portrayed in a different atmosphere than the other vampire books out there, still, this story has no depth.

I do not recommend these books.

11/03/2009: Glass House: Thought it was amazing. Fell in love with the characters. Feared who wasn't going to make it. Dead Girls Dance: Also amazing. Further fell in love with the characters. Wondered if all four roommates would make it. Then...Midnight Alley: It's starting to feel like the books are becoming predictable. Not with the specifics but the unfolding of the events. You just know when something bad is going to happen. Claire, if you leave the house by yourself you should know by now you will be kidnapped or threatened by humans or vampires. Shane is starting to get annoying. He's so confrontational and comes across as a jerk a lot of the time (however, I still reluctantly like him but am I the only one that has wished from the beginning that Claire and Michael would hook up? ). This is certainly the type of book that keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time, for the most part it lacks light moments. Around every corner bad things happen on top of another. I don't know how Caine is going to carry this on for 11 books total. But I'm hanging in there for the ride. I find these characters amazing and need to know what happens to them.
