    Synopsis

When young Christopher writes a letter to Santa Claus, he poses a question no one has ever thought to ask before: Dear Santa Claus, What do you wish for Christmas?

Miraculously, Santa's longtime wish comes true, and a baby girl is born—Princess Holly Claus. But just as the Land of Forever joyously celebrates her arrival, far away an evil is unleashed. A curse is placed on Holly, freezing her heart in ice so her future will be bound by a world of darkness. And with the Gates of Forever now locked, Santa can no longer spread the magic of Christmas to children everywhere. As soon as Holly finds a way to make a daring escape, she begins an astounding journey to the Empire City, determined to free herself and, once and for all, bring back Christmas.

This extraordinary and beautifully illustrated adventure is an everlasting gift of Christmas enchantment.

    Children's Literature

One December day in 1878, Christopher writes a letter to Santa Claus with the following question: Dear Santa, what do you wish for Christmas? In Forever, King Nicholas, known as Santa Claus, discovers the letter and is moved to tears; his lifelong wish for a child comes true shortly afterward with the birth of his daughter, Holly Claus. Holly is a beautiful girl filled with love who brings joy to all who know her. Far away, Herrikhan, an evil warlock, longs to break the curse that ties him. When Holly is christened, she receives a locket that protects her from harm. But soon Santa Claus learns his daughter will live in a frosty world and be free only if she marries Herrikhan; Santa locks the gates of Forever to protect his daughter. The wonder of Christmas disappears from the world as the gates of Forever lock. Holly longs to break the spell and to return the gift of Christmas to the world. Holly leaves Forever one Christmas Eve night and ends up in New York City, where she finds a job working at Carroll's Curiosities and Wonder, a shop filled with magnificent toys. Mr. Carroll shows Holly around the toy shop, which reminds the girl of Santa's workshop. Mr. Carroll is the boy who wrote Santa Claus long ago, and Holly represents the wish granted to Santa. Just when Holly's life is in peril, Christopher Winter Carroll and Holly Claus's love allows them to return safely to Forever as Santa once again brings the magic of Christmas to the world. Holly Claus, the star of The Legend of Holly Claus, returns to readers in another magnificent tale filled with beautiful illustrations that take young readers on a journey into the spirit of the Christmas season. 03/05/2009: This is a wonderful book to bring out every year for Christmas. I have a collection of quality seasonal books, and this is definitely at the top of the collection. It's simple and enjoyable, but with a sweet message and a little bit of fantasy. It is one that I look forward to passing down to my children and grandchildren.

11/25/2007: Holly Claus is the greatest new female role model of our time...I love her story and I love the music she wrote with world famous composer Allan Jay Freedman you can hear on her web site, I find it fascinating that the Author is actually steps out of the pages of her book to bring her story and message of love and light to life. I saw her perform at FAO Schwartz with 4 young Ballerinas and it was magical. I loved how the giant key board lit up under their feet as they twirled, danced and sang . The whole show was beautiful and it made me smile...I am happy to learn the truth about King Nicholas ' AKA SAnta' and of the Land of The Immortals one of the best kept secrets of all time where the great legends live on. I look forward to watching this author and her coragous young heroine Holly Claus along with her magical friends as their true destiny unfolds. After listening to this author or her character I can't tell them apart, I realized that I too forgot about my dreams and I plan to reclaim them today. To quote the Author, 'I will greet this day with love in my heart' and tomorrow I am going to go out and get the rockin job I always dream't I'd have because I now realize I haver the power, I can be one of the ones that can stand up and help make the difference. Thank you Holly for touching my life and helping our children get and stay onthe right path. I love you, L.M. Lucy
