Maddy's Boy Pros & Cons . . .
Brian—Super cute / hangs with my friends / goes to my high school / my boyfriend!
David—Says I'm a spoiled princess / hates my friends / has amazing blue eyes / cooked me an unbelievable dinner / annoyingly irresistible!
Summer for Maddy Sinclaire starts as a blur of house parties and dips in the pool—until she's caught throwing an unauthorized beachside bash. As punishment, her parents send her off to Napa Valley, where she'll spend her free time working on the family vineyard. Even with her boyfriend, Brian, miles away, Maddy's about to discover that the vineyard is a very romantic place. It's vast, sunny, magical . . . and there's another boy just waiting to steal her heart.
Madeline "Maddy" Sinclaire is about to have the summer of her life. She is almost seventeen; home alone for the summer in San Francisco while her parents rehab a vineyard in Napa; and she has the hottest boyfriend in the school. To kick off the perfect summer, she throws a wild party the night her parents leave town. But as fate would have it, her parents forget something and return home to find the house trashed and the party still going. Maddy's punishment is hard labor at the vineyard. She arrives sulking at a small cottage in the center of an old vineyard. Her parents have arranged for her to work with their business partner's son, David, to clean up and design what will be the wine tasting room. Napaand Davidwork their charm on Maddy. When her birthday arrives after almost two months away from the city, her boyfriend Brian is allowed to come to Napa for dinner. Maddy finds herself confused as her two worlds collide. She sees that she has changed drastically in a short amount of time and what she thought she wanted, does not seem to fit into her new life. A very enjoyable read that will draw one into the possibilities of summer romance in a majestic setting. Reviewer: Stephanie R. Pearmain

10/07/2009: Maddy was looking forward to spending the summer at home while her parents refurbished their new vineyard. But she decided to throw a party the first night of freedom...and her parents returned home unexpectedly. Now, Maddy's stuck going back with them for the whole summer. She's more of a city girl, than a country girl. Plus she was looking forward to hanging out with her friends and her boyfriend, sleeping to noon, and just having fun. Now her parents have her cleaning the new wine tasting room...and worse working with a guy who see something beneath her city city exterior. Could she actually enjoy this summer and could sparks fly in the country if her heart is still in the city?
Another fun summer romance from Hailey Abbott. She's one of my favorite teen romance authors.Reader Rating:
