He has served as a principal investigator in key research studies in type 1 and type 2 diabetes, defining the importance of good blood glucose control in preventing the complications of diabetes.
Diane Reader, R.D., L.D., is a certified diabetes educator and manager of professional training at the International Diabetes Center. She is the author of numerous patient-education and professional publications on nutrition and diabetes. Reader graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in Food Science and Nutrition. As a registered dietitian, she has taught and counseled thousands of patients with all types of diabetes on how to change their eating habits to improve their blood glucose control.

04/13/2009: After a year of ignoring the fact that I am diabetic and need to change my lifestyle and food choices, I FINALLY found a cookbook that makes planning meals easy. Carb choices are easy to read. The information on diet and diabetes in the front of the book are "user friendly". Ingredients are available at my local rural small town grocery store. My family has liked the foods that I've prepared and do not realize that they are eating "healthy". The recipes and format of the cookbook also make it easy to change into Weight Watchers points.
