05/07/2006: I read Cameron's novel in two great afternoons at the beach. It brought back the feeling of the Keys. Buy it! And while you're at it, another guilty pleasure is 'Key West: A Story Sequence' by Jon Michael Miller. These stories are as tangy as Key lime pie. Its characters will keep you amused as you wait in airports, lie on the beach, and lounge by the pool. I give it five stars also, for capturing the flavor of my favorite place, Key West. These two books are zesty companions!

04/01/2005: I'm a new Stella Cameron reader and liked the few books I've read. However, this one was a chore to get through. Sonnie Giacano is a wimpy, winey, 'heroine' who is the target of a fantastic plot to have her put into an asylum. The plot is outlandish, the characters completely off the wall. The only thing that rates it two stars instead of one is Chris Talon and his brother Roy and Roy's life parner Bo. They, at least, are good solid fairly sensible characters who have a little sense.
