    Synopsis

"Adventure, fighting, backstabbing and love abound" (VOYA) in this action-packed follow-up to the #1 New York Times blockbuster MAXIMUM RIDE: THE ANGEL EXPERIMENT, now available in paperback. The heart-stopping quest of six winged kids--led by fourteen-year-old Max--to find their parents and investigate the mind-blowing mystery of their ultimate destiny continues when they're taken under the wing of an FBI agent and attempt, for the first time, to live "normal" lives. But going to school and making friends doesn't stop them from being relentlessly hunted by sinister spies, who lead Max to face her most frightening match yet: a new and better version of herself.

    Publishers Weekly

Max, Fang, Iggy, Gasman, Nudge and Angel are being hunted by killers. No big deal because these kids can fly, literally. But how will this new threat to their safety affect their mission to save the world? Listeners will find out in School's Out Forever, James Patterson's second installment of the Maximum Ride series narrated with aplomb by Valentina de Angelis. (June). Good for Reluctant Readersby Awesomeness1

10/27/2009: This book is a high-suspense novel about a group of human-avian hybrids who are escaping a group of scientists and monsters on their quest to find their parents. The characters likable and relatable to some extent, and the dialogue is straight out of B rated superhero movie. The writing is horrendous, but understandable as it was created to mimic a 14-yr-old's thought patterns. There are some major plot holes, and the plot is nothing special, and this book itself is kind of redundant and unneccesary. However, this book is sure to interest reluctant readers, especially middle-schoolers.

I Also Recommend: Gone (Gone Series #1), The Summoning (Darkest Powers Series #1), Stormbreaker (Alex Rider Series #1), The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series #1), City of Bones (The Mortal Instruments Series #1).

10/26/2009: Interesting story line but a little too predictable. Though the author was writing from the First Person, he changes it to give an account of what happened to some of the other characters who were not in the presence of the main character.

Fun and light reading, but too simple and lacks a level of sophistication that would warrant a four or five star rating.
