    Synopsis

The recording sessions for "Let It Be" actually began as rehearsals for a proposed return to live stage work for the Beatles, to be inaugurated in a concert at a Roman amphitheatre in Tunisia. In this thoroughly researched book, Steve Matteo delves deep into the complex history of these sessions. He talks to a number of people who were in the studio with the Beatles, recording the sights and sounds of the band at work bringing to life a period in the Beatles’ career that was creative and chaotic in equal measure.

10/22/2004: Let it Be is the first time I've been brought inside the days and nights of January, 1969 when the fab four were recording songs for, arguably the two best albums ever made, Let it Be and Abbey Road. The details of who, where, inside stories, the guitars, the equipment, Phil Spector, Bill Preston, the fun, the troubles. It makes me wish I could go back to that place in time to witness some fabulous musical history. Though I can't, I feel like I got pretty close inside this book. Thanks so much to the author, Steve Matteo for this and your book on Bob Dylan. What's next?
