    Synopsis

How to Draw Those Bodacious Bad Babes of Comics shows you not only how to draw Bad Babes, but how to motivate them, how to reveal their hidden thoughts, how to show them in extreme action, and how to dress and arm them. The authors focus on drawing the female form, but they also offer an excellent introduction to figure drawing of all sorts.

Frank McLaughlin and Mike Gold-household names in the world of comics-teach tricks of the trade that anybody can learn and master, including secret inking techniques and helpful shortcuts in background drawing. With the inside knowledge of comic-book production contained in this book, those too-busy-to-take-your-call art directors should be phoning back any day.

    Biography

Frank McLaughlin is a thirty-seven-year veteran of the comic-book industry. His illustrations of Wonder Woman, Brenda Starr, and Fatale have proven him to be one of America's leading illustrators of females. He has also drawn such well-known characters as Superman, Batman, the Flash, Green Arrow, and many more, working for such companies as DC, Marvel, and Defiant.

Mike Gold was cofounder and program director of the highly successful Chicago Comicon convention, group editor and director of development for DC Comics, editorial director and publisher of Classics Illustrated, and is a trendsetter in the use of computers for comics.

04/18/2003: I've bought a number of how-to-draw books; this one's pretty professional and offers a number of decent drawing tutorials and examples: figure drawing, perspective, equipment drawing, painting. A little dated (the pricing on the computer set up is old) but worth it for comic art libraries.
