    Synopsis

Angels Flight reads in a white heat. It continues to up the ante of the series that is "raising the hard-boiled detective novel to a new level . . . adding substance and depth to modern crime fiction." (Boston Globe)

Over My Dead Body.com - Rick McMahan

...Harry’s life is in upheaval. For those of us who thought Harry’s marriage to Eleanor Wish would end his personal unhappiness, we were wrong. From the outset of Angels Flight, Eleanor is gone and Harry, as well as the reader, struggle with why she’s left. In the end, we are left, like Harry, wondering where Eleanor is and what will happen to Harry Bosch. Once again Michael Connelly has written an excellent tale.

    Biography

A former Los Angeles Times crime reporter, Michael Connelly’s familiarity with the seamy side of L.A. adds a steamy kind of street cred to his hardboiled, gritty detective novels -- especially his bestselling series of mysteries featuring dark detective Hieronymous “Harry” Bosch.

July 17, 2009: About three months ago I got turned on to Michael Connelly's books and I don't know how I hadn't heard about him before. I started with his first in the Bosch series, "The Black Echo" and now have just finished "Angels Flight" and I continue to be impressed. Connelly does a good job of allowing any of the books to be read by themselves, without having read any of the books prior to it in the series. I think Angels Flight is one of his more emotional and dramatic so far. But I do recommend you start at the beginning and get to know Harry Bosch and his world that Connelly has created.
