    Synopsis

The Jedi move one step closer to saving the embattled galaxy— only to confront a formidable wall of resistance.

The harrowing search for Zonama Sekot is finally over for Luke Skywalker, Jacen Solo, and the others aboard the Jade Shadow. But joy turns to alarm when the living planet sends a defiant message: it refuses to follow them back to a galaxy full of war, exploitation, and misery.

While Luke works feverishly to persuade the elusive planet to reconsider, the Yuuzhan Vong launches a full-scale attack aimed at the heart of the new alliance. Sent to defend a major communications base, Han and Leia find themselves hopelessly outnumbered. Reinforcements are just too far away to help before everything is destroyed. So the courageous pair must now fight an unrelenting battle against staggering odds. Whether they actually survive is another matter. . . .

May 20, 2004: OMG!!!! I thought that Jaina and Zekk were a good couple in the YJK books but this is sooo much better. I mean reading other online reveiws nobody talks about Jaina and Jag that much but they definetley deserve to be recognized. I mean they are so meant to be together because they're like total opposites ( except for the flying thing ) but that's what makes them sooo great. I'm only 13 and started reading the books like the courtship of princess leia and all the ones after that in september and am just about to finish the series. But haven't any of you realized that all the couples in the Skywalker/Solo family married people totally different from them! Zekk was my favorite but he and Jaina never had real romance except for a hug or kiss on the cheek here and there. It is so obvious that Jag totally cares for her because he was totally like out of his mind when he found out that no one could get her to wake up while helping Tahiri/Riina. He took a total step by telling Jaina that he loved her because he's not the type of character to do that. It leaves hope that maybe Jaina might end up normal after all. If you agree write me!!! I love to talk about SW especially because I'm a teenage girl who has grown up hearing about Star Wars from my uncles and totally love it!!!!!

March 13, 2004: When I first read of this planet with sentience in Rogue Planet, I didn't like the premise at all. It seemed yet another vehicle to say 'Look, Anakin is special' and to showcase the inexplicable bumbling of Obi-Wan. In this series, the thinking planet makes some sense. It ties in well with the Vong utilizing living weaponry. I was a sucker for the scenes in this book when Luke looked at his father as a boy. I liked this book the best of the three in this little 'trilogy', and I feel relieved that the end of the series is near....
