Biography

An internationally-known speaker and workshop leader, SUSAN ZIMMERMANN is coauthor of educational bestsellers 7 Keys to Comprehension (Susan Zimmermann ; Chryse Hutchins, Prima Publishing 2003) and Mosaic of Thought (2007). She co-founded and served as the Executive Director of the Denver-based Public Education and Business Coalition, an organization that has spearheaded ground-breaking comprehension work. During her ten years there, she initiated numerous programs to improve the quality of public schools, including the Reading Project, which has been implemented in more than one hundred schools and provides the examples in 7 Keys and Mosaic of Thought . January 21, 2007: Each chapter beggings with a challenging paragraph, that sometimes makes you feel like one of your students, without a clue of how the paragraph relates to the strategy, but it all fits when you keep reading.

August 19, 2006: I enjoyed reading about actual techniques used in a classroom. I loved that he explained failures as well as successes. Gave me great ideas to utilize in my class.
