Part of a series of "Answer" books, this unusual and interesting book in its second edition helps parents answer, authoritatively, the wacky and wonderful questions that young children can ask. Divided into ten areas of interest that include "Outer Space," "Creatures Big and Small," "Politics and Government," "Daily Life," "Math," "Measurement, and Time," "All About My Body," "People Around the World," "Plant Life," "Planet Earth and Our Moon" and "How Things Work," each area contains the questions a child might ask, followed by a paragraph explaining the answer. Questions may be as nebulous as "Where Does Food Come From?" to ones that may interest parents as much as their children, such as "Why is the Ozone Layer Important to Earth?" There is just the right balance of information to satisfy most youngsters without overwhelming. Occasional color photos and graphics enhance understanding but the emphasis is on the printed word. Nearly 800 questions are answered. An extensive index and sources for further study are included.
