    Synopsis

Of Robert Sward work, Ram Dass says, "Old age is about harvesting whatever your life's work has been." Sward's life's work has been, and continues to be, poetry, and fifty years after his first publication, this is harvest time. From the thousand or so poems he has written since he began writing in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, these are the ones he has chosen to preserve. The collection also includes new poems that rounds off a sequence of poems for his father, Rosicrucian in the Basement.

Of Collected Poems, 1957-2004, Bruce Meyer writes, "Robert is the very essence of surprise and delight in poetry. He is a compassionate storyteller who looks at life through the sincerity and profundity of genuine wit, always rising above the ordinary, the mundane and the despairing. It is a joy to walk in the world of Sward's perceptions and to discover the wonder that inspires each poem."
