    Synopsis

Move to a fabulous new home half way around the world with Mom, or stay home with dear old Dad? Floss has to make an impossible choice.

The New York Times - Roger Sutton

Floss, bless her brave little heart, is showing up in a publishing era that is largely ignoring stories like hers in favor of glitzier, sexier mean-girl fare. For girls who have outgrown Ramona but are still wary of The Clique, Floss makes an able, admirable companion. She may not live next door, but you'll wish she did.

January 04, 2008: Flossy (Flora) wakes up on the morning of her birthday. Her mom and step-dad gave her presents that she liked very much. What she did not know yet was that there was another birthday present that she would not be very grateful for. Turns out, her step-dad?s job was moved to Australia for about three-fourths of a year. So, that meant that Flossy had to leave her friends, school, and real dad to go to beautiful Australia. Flossy has to decide whether to stay with her lonely dad, or go to Australia with her parents. Either decision will end up hurting some one?s feelings. What do you think that she will do? The book stayed interesting and kept my attention the whole time I was reading it. There was good vocabulary that could improve some one?s speech Sometimes it got a little boring when the same things kept going on between Flossy and her dad. But after that, the story picked right back up again. Also, the constant talk of chip butties (French fry sandwiches), and them eating the sandwiches so often made me feel sick. The author sometimes gives away what will happen next if you can interpret the meaning of the pictures in the book. Whoever puts the book together should make the pictures be at the end of the chapter instead of the beginning. I would recommend this ?Candyfloss? to any girl twelve years of age and older. If you like books with real life situations you should read this book. It is 339 pages long with pictures at the beginning of each chapter, and the words are not tiny which makes it easier to read. If you read this book I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did. So, go to your local library and check out ?Candyfloss?!

December 09, 2007: I am a 6th grade student and I loved this book soooooooo much! I normaly dont like books like this because there are no pictures through out the book at all. But this book in the begining of every chapter there are digrams of what is going to happen through out the chapter! I thought from the cover it would be weird. But is is not at all!
