December 06, 2005: My opinion of this story is that it was a hard, complex story of teenage boys trying to become men. They were away from home, having to deal with feelings and emotions pretty muc alone, at leasst in their eyes. I feel, though, that even though it was not my first choice, it did have good meaning. I just had a rough time with it. I unfortunately would not recommend it to another person. I do feel that Knowles wrote a very good novel for the idea he was trying to give. Laura Sanders
