May 26, 2008: `Marriage As Advertised' written by Jerome J. McCarthy provides an insight into a marriage where both parties are dejected and uncertain if their 9 years is salvageable. Jon and April Carter have the ideal marriage, or so people on the outside believe. When both husband and wife begin to spend time with others, they both find themselves in persuasive situations. Will Jon and April choose to step into something new, or take the time needed to reassess their relationship? `Marriage As Advertise' is a tolerable read fortified with facts, faith, love and strength. I really enjoyed the scriptures, analogies and lessons the author uses from the bible. However, I wasn't really particularly fond of the co-characters, who seemingly don't advance the story in either direction. In some instances, I felt as if the story dragged. Overall, I believe that Jerome J. McCarthy has a very unique recipe for storytelling and readers would be satisfied as well as filled with the word.
