One of Krentz's Most Original Novelsby Owil

January 06, 2009: While a few of the mystery aspects of the novel were predictable, Krentz continues to excel in the art of characterization (which automatically gives a novel 3 stars in my book). I have read a number of Krentz's novels in the past year, both as Jayne Ann Krentz and as Amanda Quick, and one of the key factors that stood out in this novel was the male protagonist. While the emotion of love was still a big part of his character, it was not that he needed to learn how to love as it has been with a number of her novels, it was that he needed lean to recognize love that made it different.

Krentz also carried the idea of a home throughout Grand Passion, which she did with a truly meaningful sentimental value that touches the heart and warms the soul, for what is love without a home and a family?

Secondly, was the concept of a writer, which must have been a very personal process for her. In this novel, the reader gets an inside look at the emotions and fears of a writer, especially one who writes something that is not only very personal to the writer them-self, but also holds the possibility of being considered socially unacceptable. Through this novel a reader may come to understand one of the many reasons for writing under a different name.

Lastly, this novel is one of Krentz's wittiest yet. The humour is sure to keep the reader giggling. If not for the adult comments, than at least for little Sammy and that damn Lucky Ducky.

    GREAT READby Anonymous

September 06, 2005: This is a great read. I attend school, so I would do my work for a while, and eagerly read the Grand Passion for a while. I did that a couple of times and I finally quit doing my work, and just read the book. It will leave you stunned. But one of the great things about the book was Cleo Robbins- the owner of the small inn, was not this goddess, she was a regular person. Her beauty didn't seem to be only skin deep, and I think we all need a change of pace every once in a while
