    Synopsis

Emily Jane Todd has just found her guardian angel. Actually, the small-town librarian had just been stood up by her fiancé when she ran into the errant angel with her car. And while he appears to be unscathed, "Michael" continues to insist that his pedigree is quite legitimate. Emily just hopes his brain hasn't been scrambled in the accident; besides, she's not inclined to believe that an angel could be so dangerously sexy.

Yet Michael quickly reveals the most astounding things about her, and makes her laugh in a way she never has before. What's more, he declares that he's been sent to save her. At this point, the only rescue Emily has in mind is her upcoming marriage, and she's ready to bid her most attractive angel good-bye. But when he lets slip that he also looks at souls — and hers is a rare beauty — Emily's ready to risk heaven in his arms. Their journey will break every angelic and earthly rule before it yields her one wish: a love divine.

    Annotation

When a man announces to librarian Emily Todd that he is her guardian angel and he has been sent to earth to protect her, she assumes the man is crazy. But when she discovers he can read her mind and when a bomb is planted in her car, she begins having second thoughts. On the other hand, are real angels permitted to fall in love with mortals? By the author of Legend.

April 04, 2009: I read quite a bit. I average two books each week. I wanted to try a new author but this was very disappointing. I liked the concept of this book and, had it been well-written, it would've been an excellent read. There are inconsistancies that abound right off the bat. The dialogue is totally unbelievable and unrealistic and uninteresting. I read four chapters and was totally disappointed. Don't waste your time or money. I will never attempt another Jude Deveraux book.

Some of my favorite authors are Julie Garwood (favorites of hers are The Bride, Ransom, Secret, Prize) I have read them all more than once but The Bride is the BEST in my opinion. Nora Roberts (favorites are Carolina Moon, Midnight Bayou, Divine Evil, Sweet Revenge) Carolina Moon is my absolute fave of Nora Roberts! Christine Feehan (favorites are Dark Prince and Dark Magic.) Both are EXCELLENT! Heather Graham (Deadly Night) Lynn Kurland (A Dance Through Time, When I Fall In Love.) Cindy Miles (A Highland Knight, Spirited Away) Allie MacKay (Highlander in Her Dreams)

I Also Recommend: Highlander in Her Dreams, Highland Knight, Carolina Moon, Ransom, Bride.

January 19, 2009: The book wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either. It's a good read, but not something I'll pass on to anyone or reread. I would've liked to hear more about her past lives in greater detail and it got a little annoying how it took her forever to believe him. If you're a Jude fan you'll have no problem getting through it, but it nowhere near compares to Knight in Shining Armor!
