Wounded in a foiled robbery attempt, the dreaded Scottish highwayman seemed harmless enough--until he stole Prudence's breath away with his impassioned kisses. But even as he drew the beauty into his strong embrace, Sebastian knew he must leave her. For the double life he was leading left no room for love.

August 08, 2004: I've never been a big romance book fan, but being that my name is Heather and the title Was 'Heathers and Velvet' I thought I'd give it a try.. This book was amazing, I couldn't put it down. I can't wait to get my hands on the rest of TM's books.

August 13, 2003: It's funny but this is actually one of the best romances I've ever read. Not to say it's the best, because the above reviewer's right- Medeiros is often confusing and she frustrates her readers with her mind numbingly twisted plots- not because they're especially clever, but because they don't make sense at all. I mean you're bashing you're head against the wall trying to figure out how she drew this conclusion when it has nothing to back it up. Unfortunately, after all that Teresa Medeiros bashing, I still recommend this book. I'd read it just for the good parts, and the plot is interesting enough- some things just don't click right- but enough for you to truly get into the story. And the thing about Sebastian and Pru is, love/hate relationship or no, you can still tell they're crazy about each other, in fact this is one of the only hate/love relationships I've ever read in a novel that actually works. To come right down to it, I really did love it. A romance is a romance, whatcha gonna do?
