    Synopsis

About three things I was absolutely positive:
    First, Edward was a vampire.
Second, there was a part of him–and I didn’t know how dominant that part might be–that thirsted for my blood.
And third, I was unconditionally and irrevocably in love with him.

Isabella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife -- between desire and danger.

Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

    Publishers Weekly

In our Best Books citation, PW called this tale of a teen attracted to a vampire, a "riveting first novel, equal parts suspense and romance." Ages 12-up. (Sept.) Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.

Didn't live up to the hype...by helkiah

November 22, 2009: but it didn't necessarily disappoint, either. Overall, it lacks depth, but it's an entertaining enough junk-read. I found Edward cute enough to follow, even if I don't understand his interest in Bella, who frankly, is on the boring side.

    I Also Recommend: New Moon.

November 22, 2009: When I first read the book, I loved it. But after reading it a few times, I saw that book wasn't actually good as I first thought it was. To me, the book lacks depth, it doesn't have much story. The characters aren't very good. I mean Bella is an emotional wreck who is obsessive and clingy. I think Bella doesn't really love Edward, she just loves his looks. And Edward isn't very realistic to my taste. I find it annoying that Bella consistently talks about how handsome Edward is.

I don't recommend buying this book. I give it 0/10.
