    Synopsis

Sabuda and Reinhart Studios have created another spectacular pop-up book for George Lucas's epic STAR WARS movies! Bestselling pop-up artist and engineer Matthew Reinhart has designed a thirtieth anniversary commemorative edition that comes packed with a variety of novelty features -- pop-ups, working light sabers, pull tabs, and other interactive looks at the exciting and popular movies. This beautiful book will impress all fans of STAR WARS and gives a whole new perspective to the films.
MATTHEW REINHART is a renowned paper engineer and bona fide STARS WARS aficionado. He has worked with Robert Sabuda on many wonderful pop-up titles such as The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, A B C Disney, Encyclopedia Prehistorica: Dinosaurs, and Movable Mother Goose. He also created Mommy? by Maurice Sendak, The Pop-Up Book of Nightmares, and The Pop-Up Book of Phobias. He lives in New York City.

The New York Times - David Pogue

calling this sophisticated piece of engineering a "pop-up book" is like calling the Great Wall of China a partition. Reinhart doesn't fill pages from left to right like a normal author. He fills them upward and outward in three-dimensional space. He engineers enormous, elaborate tagboard sculptures with hundreds of parts that precisely interact as they rise from the book…Some of the artwork and engineering are so detailed, you can't imagine how they were created.

January 09, 2010: This book was awesome for my son, the youngest, newest Star Wars fan in my family. It held his interest page to page, until the very end! It has opened his eyes to the value of books and he now is reading other books...he's five years old and reads on a second grade level.

December 19, 2009: We purchased this book for our sons 9th birthday. He loves all things Star Wars and knows the movies better than we do (and we grew up with them). This book has so many things to explore, including flaps under flaps and motion. This author did a fabulous job! It's great!!!
