September 19, 2009: From the beginning, the writer pulled me into the history of New Mexico and the intrigue of the politics in the 1800s. I had a hard time putting the book down. Not only was it interesting but I learned alot about New Mexico as well.

June 07, 2009: The reader gets pulled in from the beginning to end. I didn't want to put the book down. Although fiction, K.P. Vorenberg's use of historical places and facts of New Mexico really intrigued me, I felt as though I was getting a bit of a history lesson. Some chapters seem as though you are opening a diary while others involve you in ways you weren't expecting. What a great read, I am hooked and await Lily's continued search to uncover the truth, no matter what the cost.
