      Synopsis

Who would have thought that a chance meeting of strangers in England would result in a life-long friendship, the conception of The Oakhampton Comfort Society, and the birth of this book? And what a book! Truly absorbing and immensely readable as it takes us on a journey of discovery for each of the main characters. Journeys containing happiness, sadness, loss, devastation, sorrow, fear, passion, joy, the miracle of childbirth, love, friendship, faith, and the 'Girlfriends'.

Who could want more from a book? We smiled, we laughed, we wept tears of joy and sadness. We felt the ache of sorrow, the warmth of love, and the strength of faith.

We feel privileged to have played our part in this story and wish our friend, the author, every success with it. We will certainly recommend it toour friends.

On a personal note, we have explained to our family that there is such a thing as 'poetic license'.

January 01, 2009: What can be said about a book that lifts you the way this one did to me. It is just as the author said it would be. There are mountains and then there are valleys in this story but there is always light at the end of the tunnel. There is never a dull moment throughout this book. I read half of it the first day.Being from that part of the country myself, the scenes were very vivid in my mind and the times of these events only brought back memories of my younger years.
Love, faith and hope abound everywhere in this novel and is a testament to the writers ability to overcome life's adversities and tragedy's and pen it for the use of others.
I look forward to another writing from this author.
