February 03, 2008: 'The Book of Life: Existentialism, the Will and the Truth - The New Wisdom of Philosophy' by Ronnie Ka Ching Lee is the first of his philosophical books written in poetic verse. Mr. Lee is an intellectual, a deep-thinking man with a unique life perspective which he brings to his work. His poetry is written with clarity and purpose in and easy to read. The book is divided into six parts. Each part is a collection of topics and each topic is described, analyzed, taken apart, and put together again in a poem. Some poems are short, many are long, and some refer to others. It is best when read from the start to the finish. Most of the 126 poems must be read in its entirety to be understood. The quotes below are those which I felt could be read without taking the meaning out of context, and gives a feeling for the work. Part One is the Truth of Logic and starts out with 'Many Logical Answers.' There can be many logical answers, To any one logic, As there are many answers that equal 10, Like 5 5, Or 2 8, Then there are many more answers to any one question, Like what is morality, May have many answers. Part Two is Existentialism Truths and in his poem 'Existentialism,' Existentialism is the study of philosophy, To show the reason for our existence, A meaning of life, To show how and why we are here. Further he writes: Thus existentialism, Has two main laws. 1.) Eternal they have no start of end but are eternal, 2.) Simultaneous: all laws of nature like existence, motion, and feelings are simultaneous (yet their actions within time may have levels of different independent instantaneous realities). He writes in 'Existentialism and Money': Money aims at making all things, Have rank, position and status, In a hierarchy or organization. Part Three is The Will and describes his theory of the Conspiracy of One as part of the world psyche with references to Adam, Job, and Jesus along with 'Four Corners of Heaven and Hell'. Part Four is Philosophy and starts with 'Collective Consciousness' and 'Religion' and 'God's Plan'. In 'Finite Existence and PI and PHI' he describes the number of the beast. His solution in 'Discrimination': The way to make peace, Must start with education and knowledge, And that comes from family And in schools. Part Five is World Science and his poems on 'Eternal Motion', 'Plank's Quanta Laws', 'Quantum Gravity Defined' and 'Final Simplicity of Relativity' is above my elemental knowledge of physics. His poem 'Notes on Genomic Biology' broadened my limited understanding on DNA research! Why you can never meet yourself in another time was explained in 'Euclidean Time verses Space Time.' In Part Six, My World Experiences, Mr. Lee shares some of his personal experience with schizophrenia. The eleven poems in this section, such as 'Cursed and Instinct,' 'Torturing my Mind,' 'Look into my eyes,' Me and my Jobs,' and 'Staying Sane,' show the hurt and alienation of mental illness on oneself and his environment, and illustrates his journey back to sanity. In 'Hating Me': Why do people hate me? What is it that they see? How can I change a me? That comes naturally? The Book of Life, by Ronnie Lee, is a book on logical reasoning which shows us another view into science, GOD, human nature, the universe, and our own self. It is a book to be experienced.
