    Synopsis

Early in 2004, two writers and Red Sox fans, Stewart O'Nan and Stephen King, decided to chronicle the upcoming season, one of the most hotly anticipated in baseball history. They would sit together at Fenway. They would exchange emails. They would write about the games. And, as it happened, they would witness the greatest comeback ever in sports, and the first Red Sox championship in eighty-six years. What began as a Sox-filled summer like any other is now a fan's notes for the ages.

The New York Times - Janet Maslin

… the authors rise to the occasion. They present appealingly hotheaded accounts of each game, complete with unedited trivia ("also new are Toronto's black road uniforms, which I don't like") and you-are-there minutiae … In a year when The Daily News used "Hell Freezes Over" as a headline, here comes the 409-page souvenir that is Faithful, reliving it all.

    Biography

Few authors have tapped into our secret fears as adeptly as Stephen King, Master of the Macabre and one of the most widely read novelists writing today. With his trademark blend of fantasy, horror, and psychological suspense, this prolific and immensely popular contemporary writer continues to remind us that evil is still a potent force in the world.

Every true Red Sox fan will love this book (no band wagon fans). Hearing from two diehard Sox fans gave you the real perspective of every member of Red Sox Nation waiting through 86 years of pain and finally getting the satisfaction of a winning team. If you love the Sox BUY THIS BOOK.

October 22, 2006: This book is a complete and utter waste of time. I am a huge Sox fan and recount games with my friends every day. Why you would essentially need to read another accounting of the games by others--which is all this book is--is unclear to me? This book simply capitalized on the magical season while having the sexiest cover and best distribution. Go elsewhere...
