Synopsis

Kwaku Awahnee, Time Master of Muirara, must pass on his Time Mastership to his pre-chosen successor, Dallan MacDonald, to prevent the inevitable. Councilor John Eaton must tell the unsuspecting Scot of his new office and all it entails. There are, however, a few slight problems. To become a Time Master, the Highlander has to willingly join with a Muiraran Maiden, who, stolen as an infant, hidden in another time, and now grown, must mate or die. Dallan's job of convincing her that she is Muiraran, not human, and persuading her to fall in love with him is a small task compared to their impossible race against time. John's job is to make sure the Scot is ready to listen. And then, of course, talk him into it along the way.

May 14, 2008: Love transcends time, culture and worlds. Love conquers all. Love endures and is eternal. At the heart of Time Masters: The Call is love. Dallan MacDonald is our hero. Right off the bat we learn that Dallan is valiant and willing to die for his family. It is the 1600s and brave Dallan?s skill as a warrior is put to the test when the Campbell clan raids and massacres his family at Glencoe, Scotland. Despite Dallan?s valiant efforts, he is wounded and witnesses the death of his brother Alasdair. Into the heat of battle a huge dark warrior suddenly appears, as Dallan vision clouds. Two thousand years later Dallan finds himself being prepare for a special purpose. It is now the year 3698 and Time Master Kwaku Awahnee must pass on his Time Mastership to his pre-chosen successor, Dallan MacDonald. There is one catch though. Dallan must be willing joined with a Muiraran maiden. This will be no easy task. The maiden has been hidden way in the time frame of the 1990s. This is a race against time and through time. The thread of love will be what saves us all. Yes, this is a fantasy epic with a science fiction time travel twist. Yes, this is a love story. A story about action heroes. This is also an action book, full of fast pace, gut wrenching encounters that will cause you to shout, ?Let me out of this crazy thing!? This is a 566 page turning thrill ride that will leave the reader exhausted and crying for more in the same breath. Geralyn Beauchamp has pinned the first book of what is surely to become a classic. Those of you who like science fiction time travel and action adventure will not be disappointed. The love angle only adds to the thrill of the whole book.

January 06, 2008: Time Masters was a really fun adventure, surprisingly so. When I saw that it was over 500 pages, my heart dropped. I thought,'Oh, no. It better not be boring or I'll never get through it.' Hurray! It as anything but boring. I was excited about getting back to it when I had to pull myself away for duties like meals and sleep (but I didn't do much of that). I found it easy to become immersed in the world of the 3600's and the different time/cultures that Dallan and sweet Shona inhabited. I was impatient to see them finally get together and save the world...or would they be able to do it in time? Marvelous character development. I see this as a book for both teens and adults. Now I am looking forward to the second book in the series.
