Joyce Bannon, a spunky young widow with a ten-year-old son, struggles to make ends meet. Unknown to her, Joyce's late husband is a silent partner of a large corporation that a sleazy executive plots to overtake by conning Joyce into signing her stock over to him. While decorating their Christmas tree, Joyce happens upon a torn piece of paper belonging to her late husband, which only contains a few remnants of strange words. Enter Harry, a hilariously cunning, yet relentlessly inebriated Christmas Angel who is dispatched to help Joyce, with the assistance of Jonathan Angel, an obnoxious private detective. Harry must bring Joyce and Jonathan together, as a family, and solve the mystery of the torn paper, all by the stroke of midnight on Christmas Eve. Should Harry fail, Joyce and Jonathan's memories of each other will no longer exist, and Harry will lose his Angel wings . . . forever.
