      Synopsis

Author's description. Imagined is a heart-warming, poignant novel about the return of a man who either is or is not John Lennon, the famous Beatle whom the world thought was assassinated on a cold, dark night in December some twenty years ago. The man who wakes from a coma in his hospital bed, speaks in Liverpool dialect, and sings Beatles songs is truly an original creation. He takes on a world that wants to believe. And in less than a week takes us on a magical journey from the madness of New York City at Christmas to the hippie heart of San Francisco, and even a sudden leap from the Golden Gate Bridge. In the end, Imagined brings us the real promise of a Beatles reunion, and delivers a message of hope, love and reconciliation.

November 27, 2000: This is a charming, comic, poignant novel about a man who may or may not be John Lennon. A Rip Van Winkle character, he awakes from a twenty-year coma, escapes from the hospital, suffering from apparent amnesia, and goes on a cross-country odyssey with a little help from new-found friends, including a homeless man, a fashion model, a taxi driver, a writer and his little boy. Meanwhile, a massive manhunt ensues and there are Lennon sightings around the world. This touching fable is set at Christmastime and concerns a kind of second coming. The protagonist, who may or may not be the long-lost Beatle, is nonetheless a fascinating character who gives new hope to every life he touches. This is a deft, funny, romantic fable that evokes the magic of the Beatles.

September 18, 2000: I've first read this book when it was on the internet, and I must say one thing - you are looking for a heart-warming story? You have found it in here. On the author's imagination, John Lennon survived to the bullet that would kill him on December 1980, but only to live a life of twist-and-turn adventures. I can't tell more in order not to give the plot away, but I can tell you will have fun!
