April 07, 2007: Steve Cleaver's wonderful novel is like Alice In Wonderland meets The Bible, a fusion of the surreal and the insightful. The story begins with a reluctant prophet, Andrew Benoit, meeting the Angel of Death in a laundry mat coming out of a washing machine. Warned by Death that he must save the town of Erasmus or witness its destruction, Andrew begins on a journey that requires him to face his own lost faith. Like CS Lewis, Steve Cleaver takes a Christian theme and makes it an important read that transcends all religions. The final images of the book are so provoking that if this novel finds its way to the right Hollywood director, the last scene would make cinematic history.
