October 19, 2009: "The Color of My Paint" by Mario L. Vazquez was very interesting. The book is very easy to read and it's appropriate for children from the ages of 10 and up. They will be able to understand the ideas and experiences the author expresses. The book is based on a number of incidences that happened to the author when he was growing up. The lessons that Mr. Vazquez shares with us is something that every child should be familiar with. In each chapter he explains how he found his passion for art and how he became an artist. This book reminded me when I was growing up and when I was about 11 or 12 years old. It wasn't so different from him. I lived in a small town, had a lot of friends and always tried to learn from people around me. I was very interested in seeking new experiences and that special something I would do for the rest of my life. I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in remembering their childhood and the experiences that come with the journey of learning. The Color of My Paint has many lessons we always consider minor in everyday life and although they make a big impact on us, we ultimately forget them. The stories will help you recall the reasons why we should love animals, how to find our passion in something we enjoy, and the importance of our family and friends.
