April 26, 2009: When I was told that Daniel wrote a book, I was very surprised because I knew what kint of hobbies he has, and writing was not one of them. But once I started reading it I could not lay it down before having finished it a few hours later. While reading I had to think a lot of the time I spent with Daniel and his family. More than 10 years ago I used to be an exchange studend in Danville, AR. I came from Germany to live with the family Keith for a whole year. That was shortly after Daniels heart surgery. Back then, I knew he was taking pain medicine but was not aware of the severe problems Daniel used to have. Now, after having read the book, I am able to understand better how the drugs affected Daniels life and the life of his family.

I admire Daniel for his strengh and hope!

I am convinced that the great support of his family and the deep believe in God helped him through his addiction.

I recommend this book to everyone, especially to people who are addicted to drugs or know others who go through such an addiction to understand their situation better.

Daniel, thanks for sharing your "journey through addiction" with me and everyone who will read this book!

April 15, 2009: I think that it takes a man to realize that he has a problem. I think it takes a bigger man to admit he needs help....It takes even bigger man to actually go out and find help and not stop until he finds the help that he needs. After reading "The Imprisoned Mind" by Daniel Keith, I realized how important it is for any addict to find help. Daniel shows that he is no less of a person for having a problem. He explains all of the hardships he and his family had to go through due to his addiction. He explains in detail what his body went through. It does not matter what it is that you are addicted to, this book will show that there is hope out there for anyone. Just because one doctor says there is nothing out there, go out and get another opinion. The point that I took from this book, was to not give up. Do not give up on yourself, do not give up on your family, do not give up in finding a cure for whatever it is that you are addicted too. Not only is the book helpful for the addict, but it is helpful for his family as well. Daniel shows how his wife never gave up. She always stayed at his side...I would highly suggest this book to anyone who needed help!
