June 15, 2007: I picked up a copy of Beyond Starlight and found it a strange but wonderful blend of science fiction. A sort of mix of George Orwell and Isaac Asimov meets Mitchu Kaku in a parallel universe, yes it is that weird. There are several themes running along side of each other in the book that should not be overlooked. Like the world of bio-mechanicals nanoids running through the two main characters bodies, these little guys are undergoing a process of evolution and discovering ?God?, who in this case is the bodies of the two hosts. Also it is interesting to note the most dangerous species in all of the Multiverse is none other then mankind, wouldn?t you know! But as it happens such a violent tendency of human beings has its place and meaning. Especially appealing to this reader was the description of the Genesis Point and what lies inside this umbilical cord between parallel universes. I await the next offering of the series.
