Through empathetic eyes, we see beyond the many shades of gray to the essence of humanity. In this collection of poetry, we find words dancing with memories, flooded with passion, cursing with anger, and pulsing with pain. Moons, Dreams and Majical Things is a truly diverse collection. It portrays the life of an artist in a world with no brush. Walking hand in hand, we travel together through life's ever-winding roads, struggling through this mundane life, losing loved ones along the way, and forging through homophobia; because love came to her in the shape of a woman. The prose and poems within range from the sweet and the funny to those expressing the darker side of the human psyche. We peer inside the looking glass to find a genuine work of art.

September 19, 2006: This is a collection of poems, prose ( and as she say?s ramblings, which are a small nice touch to the overall work! ). This collection of poetry which automatically gets your attention with the first couple poems is from her style and structure. There is nothing bland or the same throughout the pages. Her book starts with a poem from Robert Frost, which really breaks the ice in a manner of true quality? saying, if a poem is only there to remember if it lasts in the reader?s mind. Then the next page has a really pretty, though dark, picture of black cats in a grave yard under a full moon. A nice picture! The very first poem titled ?Here? is an explosion of style and emotion and subject. The defined words cut through your chest and you realize that you are pulled into a book that you won?t be able to escape until you?re finished reading. Your brain pulls images and it molds into the writers hand. A poem that is around the end of her book called ?The One? is really strong about love and it goes through a ? what I?d call it ? rant about she doesn?t care if people disown her, or hate her? you don?t have to like it but she still wants respect. And it yells at you with power. This piece gets a strong point across, like many of the rest. This poem, I?d say is one of my favorites in the collection! Her words are creative and full of image, description, detail and emotion. Some are towards the fantasy side and other?s are more emotionally heart-felt that get at you! so with a mixture of both, you get to venture far and wide! She end?s her collection with essay?s and quotes! Wrapping it up into one, and buries it tightly inside your head. This is one I?ll want to keep in my collection and I recommend you do the same! Overall ? this is a success. An enjoyable collection of fine work! Five stars! - In presentation, word chooses and value!
