September 10, 2006: Wow is all I can say! Every poem in this book is a mini-short story in its own right, so skilfully written and told that I felt totally captivated by each one. Mrs. Martin has an inner wisdom that shines through in her writings that I honestly believe few writers can acquire in a lifetime. The emotion is in every word, every sentence. I am not a regular poetry reader and I don?t rate books very highly unless they can do something magical for me. This book was different, I am pleased to say, and it worked on me at a deeper level. One of my favourites was 'She Always Knew His Name' (page 18). A poem about a young mother who gave up her little boy for adoption when she was sixteen. Then he paid her a visit when he turned twenty one. I found this to be very touching and it took me down an alley which made me think a lot about my own life. `Reflections in My Tears? is a soothing, captivating read whether you are young, old, man or woman, into poetry or not. Don?t miss it!
