August 05, 2005: KJ Wren has written a vampire 'lovestory' from a new perspective....yes, she does 'humanize' their emotions, but she also adds more to the 'usual lore' that surrounds the Dark World. Without knowing anything about anyone within the first few pages, she makes you care about what's happening, without long drawn-out exposition lasting chapter after chapter. Her characters are vibrant, & their powers are different from the expected. The surprise ending is great & completely UNEXPECTED, although it does gratefully give us hope for a sequel....which is coming I'm sure! I look forward to it! If fantasy romance/adventure/vampires & other 'creatures of the night' are your thing, then this is a book you shouldn't miss. She has the touch of Sherrilyn Kenyon with a unique twist of her own...

June 01, 2005: A enthralling, human story of modern day vampires. I love Arden, the main vamp... black leather jacket and rides a motorcycle! Nice touch. The fight between him and his former master is excellent, and loved the romantic twist with the female vamp and the human male. A very enjoyable and worthwhile read. Can't wait to see more from this new author!
