July 02, 2007: Over the years I have read a number of spiritual books and this was special because it resonated at a deeper level than other books. It is an inspiring story of transformation that discusses the highs and lows of spiritual life. As you read this book, you journey with people at a retreat center dealing with their personal sorrow whether it's Logan's struggle with depression, Sarah losing her direction in life or Muriel's desire to experience closeness in her old age. Then there's Steven, a millionaire fixated on regaining his wealth after losing it due to unethical business practices. He needs to learn that love is more important than money and his youthful idealism of the sixties has a place in today's world. You sense an earnestness in the story hidden beneath the surface turmoil of the character's life. Some of the events that occur seem quite random yet NEXUS speaks of something deeper: a need for spiritual transformation which is one of the central messages of this book. That need motivates the teachers to share wisdom with students at the retreat. Another central theme often shown in vivid experiences in NEXUS alludes to a deeper bond of a mystical nature where we are all connected to the Nexus through our heart where compassion and empathy can guide our personal growth with experience of our Oneness. This is best illustrated when Logan shows compassion for a dying fish. This vision of non-duality is always there beneath the surface of mundane existence. When we let go of our ego, we can experience this Oneness. I love the message of this book and so I want to share it with others. Through all of us sharing the wonderful message of spiritual books like NEXUS, WE CAN HELP IN CONSCIOUSNESS TRANSFORMATION!

May 11, 2007: NEXUS: A NEO NOVEL has a lot of spiritual and psychological insights, while at the same time presenting a powerful story about love, empathy and compassion. The book can be read at many levels, since events are often kept open-ended. Was it imagined or real? For anyone who has gone through periods of depression, the journey of Logan Andrews will hit home as it did for me. I believe Logan must be a real person. His journey becomes a powerful message of inner struggle and growth. The transformation is fraught with subconscious forces that aren't entirely under control of Logan or anyone else. Readers who are into spiritual books will love this one for its inspiring message and numerous insights. If you're not particularly into this genre of books, you might want to start with NEXUS, since it has a compelling narration often lacking in some spiritual books.
