August 15, 2008: I Will Fly Again- the Restavek-such an appropriate title for this book. This is a story of young Tilou who is enslaved by her family in poverty stricken Haiti. Without giving away a surprise ending in the book, let me just say that what happens is amazing. All through the book I was glued to the pages, admiring the intelligence and kindness of a young girl who is surrounded by poverty, betrayal, abuse, starvation. I couldn't put the book down.
