      Synopsis

In this authoritative reissue of one of the most important chess books ever written, the great Bobby Fischer takes the reader move by move through 60 of his most instructive and entertaining games, including the astounding “Game of the Century,” played when he was only 15 years old! The controversial alterations that were made to Bobby Fischer's words in the last edition have been omitted in this version, so only the author's own words are expressed, giving a true insight into one of the most gifted, troubled and controversial minds of the 20th century.

      Bobby Fischer's Classic Rereleased!by Anonymous

August 18, 2009: This is the best book Bobby Fischer ever wrote. Written for the advanced player, Fischer selects sixty of his games for in-depth analysis. This is not a book for a weak player, but for players who have a solid knowledge of the game. Fischer gets very deep into analysis with some long variations provided (not much explanation for the weak player). For it's intended audience (advanced players) this book is a must. For a weaker player wanting move by move explanations get "Unbeatable Chess Lessons" (contains some of the same Fischer games!) and "Logical Chess".

Glad to see this book in print again!

I Also Recommend: Unbeatable Chess Lessons (Chess for Everyone Series), Logical Chess Move By Move.

November 17, 2000: This book contains sixty of Fischer's favorite games of his early career. Each game is extensively annotated and lets the reader know at each move just what he was thinking at the board. Also Fischer discusses psychological reasons for some of his decisions, for example his choice of a Grunfeld opening over a King's Indian against Botvinnik when he felt he was set up for a surprise and his refusal of a draw from Petrosian, only because it would have meant Tal would have taken first prize in the tournament! A delightful book sure to educate and entertain any chess enthusiast.
