March 13, 2003: I must say at the outset that Ron Dondiego possesses an exceptional talent for both language and story telling. An awesome combination to be sure. I was very impressed by the diversity of this collection. I previously thought that this author was a genre writer, but after having read this collection I realized there were echoes of Chekhov, Hawthorne, Poe, Cheever, and Raymond Carver. There's nothing more that I love than discovering a great unknown. It's like being the first to see a beautiful sunrise just when you thought the world was declining into a bleak sterility. Good job on this one Mr. Dondiego. Keep up the good work!
