June 25, 2004: I am happy to recommend 'Through Smoked Glass: Glimpses of a Life Before, During And after Vietnam.' A powerful, realistic look into the changes wrought in a young man's life, from the peaceful, to a nightmare, to the learning to live with the changes. This masterful poet takes us into his world, and it isn't always pretty. Gritty, honest and greatly appreciated--no sugar-coating here. I highly recommend this book by a most remarkable poet and friend.
