September 20, 2002: I am quite enamoured of the romantic poets of the nineteenth century - though I believe the tradition of romantic verse started with Sappho and perhaps even farther away in the foggy passages of history and time. This book is in that tradtion, and is beauteous in its lyrical expression and quite finished in its ecstatic fruition. The poet spoke to my heart with great torrents of love and passion. And for me that is of primary importance. For what is poetry if not a heart to heart conversation between two kindred spirits? Dondiego has written from the heart and it shows.
