    Synopsis

The most anticipated story in the blockbuster Dark-Hunter series. The never-before-revealed story of the Dark-Hunter leader, Acheron. He was made human in order to escape death, but in death he was reborn a god. . .

Eleven thousand years ago a god was born. Cursed into the body of a human, Acheron spent a lifetime of shame. However, his human death unleashed an unspeakable horror that almost destroyed the earth. Then, brought back against his will, Acheron became the sole defender of mankind.

Only it was never that simple. For centuries, he has fought for our survival and hidden a past he’ll do anything to keep concealed. Until a lone woman who refuses to be intimidated by him threatens his very existence.

Now his survival, and ours, hinges on hers and old enemies reawaken and unite to kill them both.

War has never been more deadly... or more fun.

February 09, 2010: Honestly, i am an all-out romantic and i love my romance books, but honestly i cant stand the way Sherrilyn Kenyon writes. This book is good with Ash's character and everything, but omg let me tell you, if Sherrilyn keeps using the phrase "touched my soul" one more time im going to give up on all her books. Ash is supposed to be this tortured being and instead he's this badass social guy who is charming as hell. I mean if he spent a freaking week in some hole (only the tip of the ice berg of his tortures) , i think he would be a little different as an adult. Zsadist for example from the Black Dagger Brotherhood was a perfect example as to how a tortured guy would be. Sherrilyn Kenyon is just not a good author in my mind. i dont know how someone could read all of the Dark-Hunter books and not get annoyed with all of it. Ive only read the first 2 books in the series and i stopped on the 3rd. It was the same old destined-for-each other-from-the-beginning bull and it did not capture me the way The Black Dagger Brotherhood books did. Acheron is a good book, i will admit that, but i cant stand Tory's character mostly bc she treats sex like a 14yr old girl. Whenever she was going to lose her virginity she went out to the store to buy things and squeal in delight to her friends that she was going to have sex with Ash. Irritated and losing interest, I skipped the rest of that part. The only thing that stopped me from putting the book down was that i really liked Ash, even though i think he should be different than he is, and i liked Simi. I mean... ugh i just cant stand this author. She is not good. After im done with this book, im going to read the Immortals after dark series and hope that she knows how to write some good books.

I Also Recommend: Halfway to the Grave (Night Huntress Series #1), Sookie Stackhouse 8-volume Set, Lover Awakened (Black Dagger Brotherhood Series #3), Covet (Fallen Angels Series #1), Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood Series #7).
