      Synopsis

When a man loves a woman, she can do no wrong! That is what Teresa Tucker had hoped Delvin would feel about her. However when it came to Delvin, her on-again-off-again boyfriend and settling down, all they do is cheat and play mind games and the relationship becomes more of one that is convenient and comfortable. After realizing that the one she loves has no immediate intentions in offering her a marriage proposal. Teresa's patience withers away as she set out to prove that she could do badly all by herself. And bad is exactly what she becomes once she allows herself to be lured into the world of exotic dancing. A life she quickly masters but didn't mentally prepare for.

February 22, 2007: Finally an urban book that you don?t need hooked on phonics just to interpret slang! With Sensation Tangelika takes you in the hood, but yet her writing is very artistic. Sensation was a fast read, 334 pages of pure emotional drama. I read this book twice I loved it so much, which is why I decided to write a review! Teresa Tucker AKA 'Sensation', is easily lured into the world of exotic dancing through connections of her own boyfriends so called best friend. Teresa feels that the attention from other men is a substitute for the fact that the man she loves most doesn?t think she is marriage worthy. Is he right? After Teresa finds out that Devin her boyfriend is not as true to her as he led on to be. She becomes destructive to him and whether or not she realizes it, but she becomes destructive to herself as well. The friends she encounter, and the dope slinging pimp that wants more from her than she could imagine, keeps you on pins and needles guessing at how the book should end. However A long trip home to her mother is an eye opener, and could be the beginning of a new life, that is, if Teresa can slow her fast behind self down. The entire book is written in first person, it?s written similar to a memoir. Nine cliffhanger juicy chapters filled with drama and chaos. A fast paced read that will keep you up in the wee hours of the morning rushing towards the ending. Great job Tangelika Bolen, what a debut. Out of all the books I read each month, I never felt like writing my opinions. Sensation is well worth it. You now have a fan. G Johnson

February 21, 2007: Teresa Tucker is young, na?ve, involved and easily influenced. Living a good life with Delvin, her live in boyfriend, Teresa wants nothing more than to be Delvin's wife. In five years Delvin hasn't bothered to pop the question. It's not long before Teresa steps out on independence and finds out that there isn't much she won't try. I found Sensation to be just average. The main character is a seriously flawed stripper in need of major counseling. Sensation is a hectic read. Sure it has murder, killers, drug addicts, sex, and strippers, yet it lacks edge. Although it tries to manifest itself into a mystery, I pretty much knew how things would conclude. My main question became when would it end? Some chapters seemed to go on and on and on. I would advise the author to find someone to keep the writing on track. So much was said, yet out of 325 pages, I still have questions.
