    Synopsis

A powerful script and stellar cast mark this final installment in the acclaimed Radio Theatre adaptation of C. S. Lewis's most famous work. What begins as a self-serving scheme by an evil ape quickly turns deadly, as the fierce Calormenes invade Narnia and claim that their god, Tash, and the Great Lion Aslan are one and the same. Young King Tirian and his comrades must fight for the survival of Narnia. The Last Battle, though the conclusion of the series, is also a beginning--with a timeless message that listeners will treasure.

    Annotation

When evil comes to Narnia, Jill and Eustace help fight the great last battle and Aslan leads his people to a glorious new paradise.

    School Library Journal

Gr 6-8-With Eustace and Jill at his side, the King, the noble unicorn Jewel, and a few remaining loyal subjects must stand fast against the powers of evil and darkness and fight The Last Battle to decide the future of this once glorious kingdom.

    Biography

    C. S. Lewis was famous both as a fiction writer and as a Christian thinker, and scholars sometimes divide his personality in two. Yet a large part of Lewis's appeal, for both his audiences, lay in his ability to fuse imagination with instruction. "Let the pictures tell you their own moral," he once advised writers of children's stories. "But if they don't show you any moral, don't put one in."

July 29, 2009: Favorable: Informative, with fun, education & entertainment.

A quote from the book: "They will not let us help them. They have chosen cunning instead of belief. Their prison is only in their own minds, yet they are in that prison; and so afraid of being taken in that they cannot be taken out."

This battle is for all souls to be spiritually free. During the last days of Narnia, a good king Tirian must fight a fierce battle; does he win? Do the souls get freed? Read the book and find out. Great excitement, adventure, and action are within the covers of this wonderful voyage, enjoy!

May 20, 2008: The Last Battle is a great book. It's the last book of the Chronicles of Narnia series. This story is the most action packed book in the whole series as well. The last word in the title is 'battle' so I guess you've figured out that this book is going to have a lot of fighting. It shows you how great it would be to go to Heaven and shows you the climax of the whole series. It also betrays Aslan 'a lion' as who he really is, a king. I can't wait to see the movie, but for now I'm still happy to read the book. I love this book so much, I could read this again and again. If you read the Last Battle then you'll know why this book is so amazing.
